Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Optical Sales Specialist to sell, fit, and dispense eyewear to patients. As an Eyewear Consultant, you will work with customers to understand their visual needs and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit their requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate customer prescriptions and visual requirements.
  • Recommend lenses, lens coatings, and frames to customers.
  • Measure clients' bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes.
  • Sell contact lenses, spectacles, sunglasses, and other eye-related goods.
  • Assist customers in selecting frames according to style and color.
  • Heat and shape plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients.
  • Show customers how to insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.
  • Determine customer lens prescriptions using lensometer or lens analyzers.
  • Order and purchase frames and lenses.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience working in customer service.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years recent retail office experience (Optical Retail preferred).
  • ABO/NCLE Certified.
  • Graduate of Optical Studies Program.
  • Familiarity with Ophthalmology and Optometry practice.
