Job Summary:

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of a Department of Transportation Rest Area facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform custodial duties according to contracted methods of cleaning.
  • Conduct daily trash removal and disposal.
  • Cleaning Responsibilities:
    • Dusting, vacuuming, and/or sweeping of offices.
    • Mopping, disinfecting, cleaning mirrors, partitions, toilets, and sinks in restrooms.
    • Stocking paper and soap supplies.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste material.
  • Pick up litter from outside areas.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Perform other specified custodial tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • No minimum experience required.
  • Must pass a background screening for access to work areas.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Supervisory Qualifications:

None

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior custodial work experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforce.
  • Work at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical ability.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to follow basic instructions with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions.
  • Attentive to detail for quality performance.
  • May be required to drive a personal vehicle during work hours.
Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):
  • Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
Physical Requirements:

Requirements will vary depending on assigned tasks. This position requires repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and prolonged standing.

Safety and Environmental Requirements:
  • Work alone, with no supervision on select shifts.
  • Working conditions are predominantly outdoors at the work sites.
  • Will need to use personal protective equipment as designated.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Required inoculations and training provided by the company.
Sensory Requirements:

Some tasks require manual dexterity.

Compensation:

$16.91/hour

Shift:

3rd shift - 12am - 8am

Days:

Vary according to contract need, weekends/holidays included
