About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Post Award Grant Administrator to join our team at The University of Texas at Arlington. As a key member of our research administration department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful management and administration of external and internal sponsored projects.

Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Review terms and conditions of new awards and set up projects in the grant tracking and financial system appropriately to allow for notification and PI spending.">
  • Monitor post award activities to ensure compliance for issues involving allowable costs, re-budgeting and reporting requirements, faculty time and effort monitoring, cost sharing and spending limitation, etc.">
  • Facilitate, review and approve budget revisions and cost transfer requests in compliance with sponsoring agencies' regulations and university policies and procedures.">
  • Process and submit prior approval request to the sponsor that includes actions such as No Cost Extensions, budget transfer requests and requests for additional funds.">
  • Serve as primary resource for post award grant questions; communicate with and recommend and advise faculty and staff regarding post award issues; requests corrections and resolve discrepancies; interpret rules, regulations and compliance issues with respect to sponsored awards.">
  • Review and negotiate continuing projects and amendments to existing grants, contracts, cooperative agreements and incoming and outgoing subawards.">
  • Work with the PI and administrators to close out projects in accordance with the sponsor and university closeout guidelines and requirements.">
  • Work in collaboration with the PI, Office of Technology Management, Grant Accounting and Asset Management to facilitate timely submission of all agency required project reports.">
  • Create and execute subaward agreements for all new and existing awards, as well as process budget changes, extensions, and closeout procedures during and throughout the life of the subaward.">
  • Assist management in the preparation of ad-hoc reports.">
  • Monitor compliance with sponsored project related time and effort commitments and federal effort reporting requirements.">
  • Participate in special projects such as, development and presentation of training workshops, drafting, updating and amending post award processes, procedures, and report development.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, social sciences, or a related field.">
  • Two (2) years of experience in the preparation and processing of research grant and/or contract proposals and in their administration, including one year of experience as Grant and Contract Specialist I or its equivalent.">
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.">
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.">
  • Ability to navigate complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans.">
  • Strong cross-unit knowledge and understanding to overcome issues to achieve results.">
  • Ability to prepare detailed documents, reports, and/or related materials.">
  • Ability to work both independently or within a complex structured team.">
  • Ability to review contracts and legal documents and negotiate to an acceptable resolution.">
