Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Emergency Room Paramedic Night Shift to join our team at ChenMed. As a Regional Paramedic/EMT, you will work closely with our after-hours Dedicated virtual care team providers and nurses to deliver comprehensive in-home health care services to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide urgent and acute clinical interventions to patients in their homes under the direction of a provider.
  • Conduct one-on-one advanced, in-home health assessments with senior patients, documenting vital signs and measuring relevant physical attributes.
  • Communicate health updates with the provider and virtual care team, preparing patients for virtual examinations and assisting with exams.
  • Administer medications, change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures as needed.
  • Collect phlebotomy and other lab specimens, interact with EMS and emergency department personnel to coordinate emergency care, and create and record detailed clinical documents for each patient.
  • Provide recommendations to the provider to address/reduce health risk, maintain home visit supplies, equipment, and stocks, and sterilize instruments.
  • Administer patient care at the EMT/Paramedic skill level in emergency medical situations, report cases of neglect or abuse, and educate seniors on aging and disability resources.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Paramedic required, or new Paramedics with at least 1 year of EMT work experience in public health or other health-related fields may be considered.
  • Current, valid Driver's License and reliable means of personal transportation required.
  • Community paramedic certification (CP-C) and experience in telemedicine or virtual care delivery strongly preferred.
