Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Office Manager to join the Office of Diversity, Opportunity, and Inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Diversity Officer and other staff members, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating office events, programs, and trainings, including logistics and communication with attendees.
  • Manage data related to office events, including attendance tracking and evaluation.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce timely reports of the office budget and expenses.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for office staff, including reservations and reimbursement.
  • Monitor the physical environment of the office, ensuring equipment and supplies are in good working order.
  • Foster a culture of belonging and respect by promoting open communication and empathy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by historically underrepresented populations.
  • Previous administrative experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

Additional Considerations

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends with advance notice.
  • Experience creating and posting content for social media.
