Job Description:

The Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is a leading behavioral health hospital providing inpatient psychiatric treatment for adolescents, adults, and senior adults. We strive to build a fully integrated, effective behavioral health care system.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in receiving, scheduling, and triaging inbound calls and referrals throughout the admissions department for patients in need of our services.
  • Support leadership members through the implementation of systematic processes for all departmental goals and objectives.
  • Review assessments and verify insurance information in real-time to ensure timely hospital admission placement.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a professional team that has a direct impact on the care and service we provide to our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
  • Process all requests for information and external referrals.
  • Complete pre-certifications as needed.
  • Arrange for patient admission, including verifying benefits and initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks.
  • Determine required Releases of Information and process them accordingly.
  • Obtain necessary records and information, arrange disposition, and communicate with the designated Treatment Coordinator.
  • Maintain statistics, provide support for the Outcome Study, and perform other data-related tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff members.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, practicing good customer service standards.
Requirements:
  • A valid RN license in the State of Texas.
  • Experience in behavioral health assessment and/or treatment.
  • At least one year of previous experience in an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.
Physical, Mental, and Special Demands:
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with hospital staff, physicians, and administration.
  • Ability to sit and stand occasionally, walk frequently, reach above, at, or below waist height, kneel, bend, stoop, turn, twist, and throw from occasionally to frequently.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing techniques for reports and appeals, and verbal presentations for telephone interactions and training seminars.
Salary:

$85,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
