The Room Attendant is a key member of the Housekeeping Management Team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public spaces. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional guest service by responding to guest complaints and special requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms.
- Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order, and operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers' guidelines.
- Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping, and report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Handle all lost and found items according to established procedures, and promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services, and perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred, with a background from the extended stay industry beneficial.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred, with other languages beneficial.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are required, with frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds is required, with regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
- Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
