Nursing Director for Quality Excellence and Practice

Intermountain Health seeks a skilled professional to lead its Nursing Professional Development and Practice Excellence efforts.
We are seeking an experienced leader with expertise in nursing quality, safety, and experience goals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing Intermountain Health's vision and strategy for nursing excellence across their region.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of achieving quality management, patient safety, and experience goals. They will also possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to drive regional nursing practice and education programs.
This role is crucial in shaping Intermountain Health's nursing practice, education, and research initiatives. The selected individual will work closely with regional leadership teams, Clinical Excellence, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Implement annual nursing education and specialty nursing education programs
- Develop and deploy strategies for nursing orientation, competencies, mandatory education, new grad residency programs, preceptor training, clinical advancement, mentorship, and nursing clinical simulation
- Align clinical education with nursing and enterprise goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives
- Provide input on care delivery model innovation, shared governance council structures, Magnet designation, and career development/liaison relationships with nursing schools
- Lead and facilitate regional processes and systems to support nursing practice and research
- Maintain effective processes for developing, approving, and reviewing nursing policies consistent with available evidence, best-known outcome and practice standards, and regulatory requirements
- Promote the use of evidence-based practices and tools
- Partner with Clinical Excellence caregivers and leaders to implement nursing quality measurement strategies
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related field
- Current state nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated outcomes in quality management, patient safety, and experience
- Experience leading clinical education and clinical practice training across a large hospital or system
- Experience developing nurse training programs in a large, complex healthcare system
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading operational nursing or clinical teams in a large, matrixed healthcare system
- Experience working with external entities that drive and support quality approaches and standards
- Experience with innovation and change management
Estimated Salary: $57.75 - $89.14 per hour, based on experience.
