Aluminum Extrusion Production Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Aluminum Extrusion Production Specialist to join our team at Universal Alloy Corporation.
Salary: $23.86/hr (after completion of level 1 training)
Location: We will determine the location based on business needs and the candidate's preferences.
Key Responsibilities- Exercise and promote safety in the workplace.
- Set up and operate extruding presses, utilizing aluminum billet to produce ordered shapes that meet specifications, dimensions, and specific weights.
- Perform die changes within required timeframes and adjust speeds and temperatures for product uniformity and quality.
- Inspect products for defects and check dimensions with micrometers and calipers, making necessary adjustments.
- Maintain production and downtime records throughout each shift.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: Three months' experience at Universal Alloy Corporation.
- Certifications Required: Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (obtained during new hire orientation).
- Communication Skills: Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measurement.
- Reasoning Skills: Good reasoning and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and learn how to operate complex machinery.
- Physical Abilities: Required to stand 100% of the time, with occasional need to reach with hands and arms and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Schedule: First shift.
All employees must adhere to job safety procedures, attend required health and safety training sessions, actively promote safety in the workplace, and promptly report actual and potential accidents and injuries.
Understanding and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is also mandatory.
