About the Role

The Patient Access Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences across our health system. As a key member of our team, you will interact with patients, providers, payers, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure accurate and timely collection, verification, and communication of demographic, financial, referral/authorization, clinical, and other registration data.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental policies, practices, and initiatives focused on patient experience, throughput, safety standards, and revenue cycle outcomes.
- Schedule hospital and physician services for all RWJBH sites, perform pre-registration/registration, pre-admission/admission, insurance verification, referral coordination, pre-certification, screening for financial counseling, eligibility determination, and communicate/pre-service estimate collections as required.
- Foster positive experiences through patient access and revenue cycle flow by facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration among stakeholders.

Requirements

- 1+ year of call center experience or relevant customer service background.
- High school diploma or equivalent required within one (1) year of hire.
- Prior experience in patient access preferred.
- Successful completion of training and orientation programs required.

Scheduling

- Afternoon shift, ideally between 3pm-7pm ET.
