About the Role

Calm Source is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will provide high-quality clinical services to individuals and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement intake procedures and handle new client orientation
  • Perform onsite or telehealth outpatient therapy sessions
  • Promote Calm Source to local, regional, national, and international constituencies
  • Perform all functions requested by the CEO or Director of Operations
  • Offer assistance and provide various modalities of therapy for individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues
  • Establish open lines of communication and provide various modalities of therapy for individuals with mental health, emotional issues, or substance abuse issues
  • CARE COORDINATION: Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment providers and agencies as required based on each client's requirements
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality
Requirements
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Lauris Online or Therapy Notes
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Punctuality and timeliness
  • Ability to perform majority of duties without outside assistance
  • Full licensure to perform clinical services in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • At least 3 years' experience in the Mental Health field
  • Licensed or license eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Ability to work with a wide range of supported persons
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clientele and Calm Source Team Members
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to ensure full compliance with all DBHDS regulations
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, and NCI
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to company values and loyalty to the agency
  • Pass all child protection services, criminal history (FBI, state police) and Division of Motor Vehicle Background Checks
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the English Language
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, run, squat, stoop, climb, throw, reach with hands and arms, balance, talk, hear, see, and react quickly. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Work Environment: While performing duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at this time as work is carried out indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment may be minimal to moderate.
