Meat Counter Specialist

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Clerk to join our team at Fresh Thyme Market.

About the Role: As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our meat cases, as well as ensuring accurate pricing and presentation of products. You will also provide exceptional customer service, responding positively to inquiries and assisting with purchases and product selection.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stocking and Merchandising: Ensure that all meat and seafood cases are fully stocked and accurately priced, with products facing and organized according to company schematics.
• Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by responding positively to inquiries, assisting with purchases and product selection, and selling and cross-selling products.
• Sanitation and Safety: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of meat cases, storage areas, and workspaces, adhering to sanitation and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalency degree; preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in meat department processes and procedures.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must maintain high levels of customer service, adaptability, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Physical Demands: Stand continuously (1-8 hours), walk continuously (2-8 hours), and sit rarely (1-2 hours); occasional bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, lifting/carrying, and repetitive motion.

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
