Surgical First Assistant PRN

As a Surgical First Assistant at AdventHealth, you will play a vital role in the operating room, assisting surgeons during procedures and ensuring the highest level of patient care. This is a per diem opportunity, with a flexible schedule that allows you to choose your own hours.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the performance of surgical procedures, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to assist the surgeon in achieving optimal results.
Maintain thorough and confidential patient charts and records, documenting ongoing status, interventions, patient response, and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs, functioning in a manner that does not divert attention from the operative field.
Demonstrate the ability to maintain focus and technical dexterity, working rapidly and accurately over long periods of time.
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited Surgical Assistant program.
Three years of general operating room experience.
General knowledge of asepsis, healing, infectious disease process, surgical anatomy, and physiology, safety issues, and operative techniques.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Certified as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by NBSTSA, Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NSAA, Surgical Assistant–Certified (SAC) by ABSA, or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by NCCSA.
