Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States Loam Bio Full time
About Loam Bio

At Loam Bio, we're dedicated to enhancing the sustainability and resilience of agricultural systems through innovative soil carbon sequestration. Our team is passionate about empowering farmers and landowners to reduce carbon emissions while improving soil health. We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of National Field Trials to join our team in the Midwest, United States.

About the Role

As a Senior Manager of National Field Trials, you'll partner with research and commercial teams to manage Loam Bio's field trial program in North America. You'll be responsible for leading our United States field trial program using microbial inoculants to increase soil carbon. Your key responsibilities will include managing a small team of field specialists, collaborating with research and commercial teams to define trial objectives, develop trial protocols, and identify suitable trial sites and commercial opportunities. You'll also collaborate with global trial teams to gain efficiencies through innovative assessment methods, trial designs, or technologies. Additionally, you'll coordinate logistics, supervise field trial companies, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate records of trial activities. You'll accurately record and collate agronomic data in appropriate data systems, interpret and present trial results, and integrate trial findings into product development strategies. You'll also liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including growers, academics, and contractors, to align trial objectives with Loam Bio's commercial strategy, foster relationships, and communicate trial progress, results, and recommendations. Furthermore, you'll work closely with external stakeholders to integrate their needs into trial planning, provide technical support and guidance, collaborate on data collection and analysis, and promote trust and transparency. You'll manage timelines and budgets for all US field trial activities and contribute to a productive, positive, constructive team environment. You'll also support the wider team in achieving their goals and take on additional responsibilities required for Loam Bio's global success.

Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in field trial management and agronomy. You'll need to be located in the Midwest, United States, and have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in agronomy, agriculture, plant sciences, or a related field. You'll also need to have agronomic experience in North American cropping systems and familiarity with soil health and sustainable agriculture practices. You'll need to have knowledge of plant growth requirements, including water requirements, plant nutrition, plant health, and pest control. You'll need to be meticulous in your approach to executing experimental design and data collection. You'll also need to have experience in data analysis, data management, and statistical methods. Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills are essential for this role. You'll also need to have a strong understanding of OH&S, including safety and handling of chemical and biological materials. You'll need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed. You'll also need to be able to conduct sampling at field trial locations and be physically fit and willing to work for extended periods outdoors across all seasons. Travel will be approximately 20% of the time, with increased travel during sowing and harvest seasons.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, a rich benefit plan design, and generous paid time off. Our benefits include a low employee premium for health, with the employer covering 100% of the premium for the employee, dental and vision, short and long-term disability, and a flexible spending account for medical and dependent care.
