Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our purchasing department, you will be responsible for the procurement and inventory control of indirect materials to support production floor and maintenance departments.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of related job experience and familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. They will also possess excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, as well as strong math skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and confirm specifications, quantities, price, lead-times, and requirements on Purchase Orders.
  • Maintain and organize records and reports for efficient and timely referencing, as required by purchasing procedures.
  • Prepare purchase orders and bid requests.
  • Manage annual pricing on MRO, including pricing negotiations with suppliers.
  • Develop and implement supplier stocking programs to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding expediting, late deliveries, and pricing discrepancies.
  • Assist Accounting in resolving receipt and payment discrepancies on purchase orders and invoices.
  • Adhere to purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Negotiate best vendor terms, pricing, and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.
  • Support Company/Department goals of reducing cost, quality, safety, and continuous improvement objectives.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of related job experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a structured team.
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing terminology and practices.
