Job Overview

Cyborgwave is seeking a seasoned Database Administration Expert to join our team. As a critical production support role, this position will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of DB2, SQL Server, and Teradata applications.

About the Role

This hybrid role involves working 2 days a week in our office and requires a strong expertise in database administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for upgrading DB2 z/OS to the latest supported version, configuring Always On HA and DR with multiple nodes on Windows Server Failover Clustering, and coordinating upgrade activities with various teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Critical production support for DB2, SQL Server, and Teradata applications
  • Upgrade DB2 z/OS to the latest supported version
  • Install and configure Always On HA and DR with multiple nodes on Windows Server Failover Clustering
  • Coordinate upgrade activities with DAS/OIT, vendors, and application development teams
  • Conduct performance tuning for database systems and applications across z/OS and Windows platforms
  • Assist project teams with technical solutions
  • Lead data modeling for new applications and enhancements
  • Train junior DBAs in database technology
  • Respond to and resolve "production down" and critical system and application problems on a 24-hour basis
Mandatory Requirements
  • 15+ years of database administration experience
  • Excellent automation and scripting skills using REXX, QMF, JCL, and PowerShell
  • Senior-level experience with IBM Mainframe family products
  • Able to quickly diagnose and resolve issues
  • Experience working in a 24x7 production environment
Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience
