Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified School Nurse to join our team at the Dallas Independent School District. This role will involve providing comprehensive health services to students, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with school personnel and parents to promote student health and well-being.

About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive school health program, supervising nurse assistants, and delegating nursing responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans for individual students
  • Provide episodic and emergency health care to ill or injured students or employees
  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and members of the community to promote student health and well-being
  • Assess the health and developmental status of students and provide student evaluations and health appraisals
  • Provide health counseling and collaborate with school personnel to promote health education opportunities
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas
  • Certified in American Heart Association Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
Estimated Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
