Principal Systems Test Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Test Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Mission Systems team, you will be responsible for designing and developing automated test solutions for communication systems and sub-systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop test hardware and software, from requirements definition through build and integration processes, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities.
- Lead a multi-disciplined team through program execution and deployment.
- Work on schedule development and tracking for program planning/execution, while tracking any deviations from plan to actual.
- Proposal and bidding experience to foster new technologies and business growth overall.
- Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings.
- Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments.
- Work with mechanical engineering to design and develop test adapter and fixturing design activities. AutoCAD knowledge a plus.
- Work autonomously with limited supervision, as an individual contributor, within a multi-functional team environment.
- Support Manufacturing operations, including on-site troubleshooting and debugging, both independently and in collaboration with production and design engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in the engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments, delivering hardware and software deliverables providing on-site training to final operators.
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with National Instruments' software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
- Experience with hardware station design efforts utilizing rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, VME application development.
- Experience with Digital, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design.
- Technical writing skills is a plus, MS Word, MX Excel, MS Visio.
