Overview

The AAOS seeks a highly skilled Clinical Research Analyst to join our team of experts in evidence-based medicine. This hybrid position is based in Rosemont, Illinois and offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about advancing clinical practice through rigorous research and analysis.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Research Analyst who will play a key role in the development of clinical practice guidelines, systematic literature reviews, technology overviews, and appropriate use criteria. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research methods, statistical analysis, and evidence-based medicine processes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of clinical practice guidelines, systematic literature reviews, technology overviews, and appropriate use criteria by critically evaluating published studies, abstracting information from these studies, using applicable statistical methods to analyze the evidence from those studies, and preparing written commentaries and clinical scenarios for use by physician work groups/panels.
  • Produce professional reports for publication of AAOS Appropriate Use Criteria, Technology Overviews, systematic literature reviews, and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
  • Critically evaluate the quality, conduct, and analysis of published clinical research studies.
  • Abstract information/data from peer-reviewed clinical research studies to create literature reviews for the development of AAOS Appropriate Use Criteria, Technology Overviews, Systematic Literature Reviews, and Guidelines.
  • Perform statistical analysis (meta-analysis) and statistical re-analysis of results reported in the published literature.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate the strengths and weaknesses of clinical studies and prepare evidence summary reports.
  • Provide technical and administrative support at AAOS Appropriate Use Criteria, Technology Overview, Systematic Literature Review, and Guidelines work group meetings/conference calls.
  • Correct errors noted in data abstraction.
  • Maintain knowledge of musculoskeletal and other clinical medicine research.

Accountability

This position requires ownership of process and results that drive decisions and ensure implementation.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include up to 5 days of travel per year and opportunities for growth and development within the organization.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in the health or life sciences.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Word, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and critically evaluate the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
  • Experience in the use of STATA, SPSS, or SAS statistical software packages.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based medicine processes, RAND/UCLA Appropriateness Method or other Delphi methods.
  • Familiarity with survey research methods and analysis.

This hybrid position is based in Rosemont, Illinois and offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about advancing clinical practice through rigorous research and analysis.
