Job Summary

This Medical Office Assistant Pediatric Surgery role is responsible for performing clinical and administrative duties in a pediatric surgery setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in medical terminology, computer skills, and experience working in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative support to pediatric surgery team members
  • Assist with patient care activities, including vital signs, medication administration, and wound care
  • Manage electronic health records and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including scheduling, billing, and data entry
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant program or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of six months experience in a healthcare setting, including experience with electronic health records and medical terminology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent
  • Minimum of six months experience as a medical office assistant or CNA
  • Minimum of six months experience with an electronic health record
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology
