We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation Analyst to join our team at NW Recruiting Partners. This role is part of the accounting team and involves managing, implementing, maintaining, and auditing payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Job Overview

The company specializes in lending to builders and developers and also has divisions focused on mortgage brokerage and development. Our ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of experience in accounting or payroll, preferably in construction, real estate, or private equity sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with payroll processing systems and transactions, including salaries, benefits, commissions, bonuses, garnishments, taxes, and deductions.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across multi-state jurisdictions.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact with the payroll provider for management and issue resolution.
  • Manages fully-cycle accounting for assigned projects, handling accounts payable and receivable, and maintaining project ledgers.
  • Prepares, reviews, and distributes project-related reports.
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting to project teams, departments, and management as needed.
  • Monitors and interprets transaction flow within general ledger accounts.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in accounting or payroll, preferably in construction, real estate, or private equity sectors.
  • Must have experience with NetSuite or Paychex.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is preferred.
  • Prior experience in real estate, development, construction, or banking is highly beneficial.
  • Possesses a customer-focused approach, strong organizational skills, and keen attention to detail.
  • Skilled in clear, effective communication—both verbal and written—with project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a deep interest in understanding business drivers.
