Located near the beach, TidalHealth offers a wide range of specialty and subspecialty services, including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, joint replacement, emergency/trauma care, comprehensive cancer care, wound care, and clinical trials and research.
PCU RN Position Summary
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at TidalHealth is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where patients receive continuous monitoring and care. The primary patients admitted to the PCU are those who require less care than standard intensive care but more than what is available on telemetry or med-surg units. As a PCU RN, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing the ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. You will act as a patient advocate, provide support, information, and direct care, and utilize equipment and technology skillfully and competently in nursing procedures. You will also educate patients and families on significant self-care issues and may be required to inventory, distribute, and deliver medications.
PCU RN Position Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of permanent residency. You must also hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months of employment. Additionally, you will be required to obtain NIH Stroke Scale Certification during orientation.
PCU RN Work Schedule
As a PCU RN, you may be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. You will be scheduled off at least three holidays per year and may be required to work weekends per unit need. You are also expected to work overtime on occasion.
PCU RN Benefits
At TidalHealth, full-time employees working at least 72 hours per pay period, part-time employees working at least 36 hours per pay period, and part-time employees working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits. Benefits include medical, prescription, vision, dental, flexible spending accounts, disability insurance plans, life insurance, paid time off plans, retirement plans, tuition assistance, employee assistance, and access to on-site childcare and a credit union.
