The Staff Pad is seeking a skilled Orthopedic Technician to provide essential support and care to patients requiring orthopedic services in an outpatient or inpatient medical setting.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will assist licensed personnel in the application and removal of casts, splints, braces, and other orthopedic devices. They will also provide patient education on the care and maintenance of orthopedic devices and overall orthopedic health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care Support:
    • Assist with the application and removal of orthopedic devices as directed by licensed personnel.
    • Provide education to patients on proper device care and overall orthopedic health.
    • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or adverse reactions to orthopedic devices.
  • Clinical Duties:
    • Prepare and maintain the orthopedic treatment area, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sanitized and in working order.
    • Assist with minor orthopedic procedures as directed by licensed personnel.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and orthopedic procedures.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Maintain inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment, notifying personnel when replenishment is needed.
    • Coordinate with other departments for seamless patient care and efficient scheduling.
    • Perform clerical duties as needed, including patient registration and appointment scheduling.
Requirements:
  • Education:
    • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum one year of experience as an Orthopedic Technician.
    • Hospital experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • Current certification as an Orthopedic Technician.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum
