Job Summary

Amerco Real Estate Company, a leading provider of moving and storage solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Land Use Planner to join our team. As a key member of our land use and zoning team, you will be responsible for planning, zoning, and entitlements for commercial, industrial, and retail properties in the US and Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis of municipal zoning codes, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for development.
  • Entitlements and Permitting: Negotiate and finalize entitlements from municipalities, including rezoning, tentative maps, development agreements, design review, general plan amendments, and variances.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with municipal staff, officials, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Graphic Preparation: Prepare high-quality graphics and materials using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in real estate, urban planning, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 4 years of experience in planning or architecture-related fields, preferably with knowledge of the site development process.
  • Skills: Excellent organization and people skills, ability to read and understand complex zoning codes, general plans, and technical reports.
