Job Summary:

The Material Estimator 3 is a key member of our team, responsible for developing accurate material lists from architectural plans for residential, multi-family, and commercial construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of commonly used framing concepts and practices within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate material lists
  • Develop detailed cut sheets for final construction
  • Ensure conformance to all relevant building requirements and municipality building codes
  • Generate optimized material lists that meet standards
  • Review team members' takeoffs for accuracy

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of residential, multi-family, and commercial construction framing practices, codes, and carpentry
  • Ability to complete takeoffs for framing, siding, roofing, windows, and concrete
  • General computer knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with blueprint takeoff software
  • Associate degree in a related field and at least 5 years of related experience
