Job Opportunity:
Career Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pyschiatric Registered Nurse III to join our team at the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH) in Berlin, Vermont.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing high-quality psychiatric nursing care to patients. As a seasoned psychiatric nurse, you will contribute to the evolution of mental health care in Vermont, making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

This is a night shift position that requires overtime work to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections. Overtime is considered an essential function of this job class. Additionally, you may be required to travel off-site and be exposed to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially physically or verbally violent patient populations. You will also have opportunities for professional development and growth within the organization.

To succeed in this role, you must possess (or be eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont or be eligible to practice in the state via a multi-state license, with three years or more of professional nursing experience in the specialty. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred. The ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and extended shifts is necessary due to the demands of the position.

The State of Vermont offers a competitive salary for this role, estimated to be around $85,000 per year, considering the location and industry standards. In addition to a generous salary, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including 80% state-paid medical premium, a dental plan at no cost, paid holidays, leave plan, State Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FMLI), two ways to save for retirement, tuition reimbursement, flexible spending healthcare and childcare reimbursement accounts, low-cost group life insurance, incentive-based wellness program, and eligibility for Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Program. The total compensation package features an outstanding set of employee benefits worth about 30% of your total compensation.
