Emergency Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Care Specialist to join our Pediatric Unit at Williamson Health. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering exceptional care to children facing acute illnesses or injuries.
About the RoleAs an Emergency Care Specialist, you will be responsible for quickly assessing the conditions of pediatric patients, prioritizing care based on severity, and implementing life-saving interventions. You will work closely with our team of board-certified pediatric emergency room physicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and child life specialists to provide family-centered care.
You will explain treatment plans and procedures to patients and their families, offering emotional support and reassurance. Additionally, you will maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies and collaborate with the pediatric acute care team to coordinate transition of care for admitted patients.

Key Responsibilities- Provide family-centered care to pediatric patients
- Quickly assess patients to identify their needs
- Implement life-saving interventions as needed
- Work collaboratively with the pediatric emergency team
- Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- At least 1 year of pediatric emergency experience preferred
- Courses offered through the hospital and required within 6 months of hire: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
