Home Health Care Occupational Therapist Position

BAYADA Home Health Care, a leading provider of home health care services, is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Union County. As a home care Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, affording them the opportunity to receive medical care required to remain at home.
About the RoleThis per diem opportunity offers flexibility and autonomy, with visits performed in homes throughout Union County, Ocean County, and Middlesex County. As an integral member of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for:
- Making home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
- Performing thorough evaluations of patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, and ADL and IADL performance.
- Assessing cognitive, psychological, and motor aspects of performance and developing individualized intervention plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Evaluating home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living.
- Identifying equipment needs and environmental adaptations resulting in enhanced outcomes for clients.
- Continually assessing and revising the occupational therapy care plan, and participating with nursing in the multidisciplinary care plan as appropriate.
- Educating and instructing patients, family members, or other patient representatives in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote health, safety, and independent living.
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience and location. RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current NJ Occupational Therapist license.
- Prior home care experience preferred but not required.
- A minimum of one year of recent work experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the AMA and the AOTA, as indicated by school transcript or diploma.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
