About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Child Development Assistant to join our team at Children's Home Society of Washington. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive child development services to children.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up learning environments, engaging in activities with children, and supporting individualized education plans.
  • Participate in daily routines such as meal preparation, cleaning, and health and safety practices.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, families, and staff members, ensuring a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with educators and other staff members to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of children's progress and program activities.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is preferred.
  • One year of experience working with young children and their families is necessary; experience in a childcare or child development classroom is highly valued.
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate effectively is essential, as well as proficiency in MS Office and other computer programs.
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is expected, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
