We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Newbridge Health & Wellness. As a Medical Assistant in our long-term care department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support services.
About the Role:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including assisting with daily living activities, taking vital signs, and reporting any changes in patient condition to nursing staff. You will also maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and contribute to a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care and assistance with daily living activities
- Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and respiration rate
- Report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff members
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
To be successful as a Medical Assistant at Newbridge Health & Wellness, you will need:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nurse's Aide or equivalent
- A valid certification in CPR (Heartsaver) and knowledge of basic life support techniques
- The ability to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients safely
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
