About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of plasma from donors. Your primary responsibilities will include determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility
What You Bring to Takeda

We are seeking individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, who have completed a graduate-equivalent recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic. Additionally, we require:

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, with an estimated hourly wage range of $23.85 - $32.79 in the USA - TX - San Antonio location.
