Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (12-hour shifts)

Pay Package:
$30/hr on W2 + $1056(Weekly non taxable stipend)
Weekly Gross:$2136

Local Pay: $45/hr

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the healthcare team to adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, healthcare team members, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical unit.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to manage multiple patients and tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems (Epic experience preferred).
Special Requirements:
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required, with no exemptions.
  • Ability to float to other units if necessary.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
