Job Description:

We are seeking a night Registered Nurse to care for our patients in our residential facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Completing admission procedures, including paperwork, orientation, and monitoring urinalysis collection.
  • Thoroughly searching individuals' belongings upon admission and disposing of forbidden items.
  • Administering and reading tuberculosis skin tests.
  • Documenting nursing assessments, treatment plans, physicians' orders, progress notes, and other individual-related data.
  • Providing direct care to individuals served.
  • Monitoring signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Providing medically monitored evaluation and withdrawal management under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
  • Maintaining a hygienic and safe work environment.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Managing and administering medication as ordered by the Medical Director.
  • Providing directions to technicians on assigned shifts.
  • Developing treatment plans with individuals to address medical issues.
  • Providing emotional support through listening, counseling, and answering questions.
  • Consulting with in-house staff and outside professionals to ensure comprehensive quality care.
  • Providing referrals for identified needs that cannot be met by the Agency.
  • Maintaining professional boundaries and interacting with clients appropriately.
  • Performing all related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Holding an unrestricted RN license in New Hampshire.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Passing State of New Hampshire criminal background and driving record checks.
  • 1 year of detox, emergency, or med-surge nursing experience (preferably).
  • Working knowledge of medical detoxification for substance abuse (preferably).
  • Knowledge of signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal, including pharmacological factors.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine placement criteria and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as it relates to substance-related disorders.
  • Knowledge of Code of Ethics for nurses.
  • Knowledge of federal drug and alcohol confidentiality law (42 C.F.R. Part 2) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Ability to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, individuals served, outside professionals, and the general public.
