Job Summary

The State of California is seeking a highly qualified Victims' Services Unit Manager to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of trauma-informed practices, and the ability to manage grants and budgets effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide visionary leadership and direction to the Victims' Services Unit staff, promoting a cohesive team environment and fostering trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Grant Management: Oversee the delivery of victims' services based on evidenced-based practices, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and managing budgets effectively.
  • Culturally Responsive Practices: Promote culturally responsive practices and tools, providing trauma-informed services to victims and their families.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing prompt and comprehensive responses to department and funder needs and requests.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of experience in victims' services, grant management, and budget oversight.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure with a high degree of initiative.
Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position, requiring both in-person and remote work. The selected candidate will be required to attend meetings and trainings at the Department of Justice headquarters in Sacramento, with expenses related to travel to the office for required events the responsibility of the employee.
