Overview

Seneca Family of Agencies is dedicated to providing exceptional support services for children and families in need. As an Education and Support Professional - Early Intervention, you will play a vital role in creating a positive learning environment for students at K-5th Starr King Elementary School.

In this dynamic position, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists to provide instructional, therapeutic, and behavioral support to students. Your primary goal will be to foster strong relationships with students, promoting engagement and progress towards individualized goals.

You will assist with academic instruction, providing individual and group guidance as directed. Additionally, you will aid in the implementation of classroom modifications and accommodations identified by students' individualized education plans (IEP) or other plans.

Responsibilities
  • Support Student Learning
    • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement instructional plans that meet the diverse needs of students
    • Provide individualized support to students, focusing on areas such as literacy, mathematics, and social skills
    • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and student IEPs
  • Facilitate Positive Behavioral Interventions
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce problem behaviors and promote positive relationships among students
    • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques to address challenging situations
    • Work with students to identify and achieve personal goals, fostering a growth mindset and increased self-confidence
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Maintain open lines of communication with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and support
    • Document student progress and share observations with educators and families
    • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss student outcomes and refine strategies for improved support
  • Contribute to a Positive School Culture
    • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity among students, staff, and families
    • Participate in school-wide initiatives and activities that celebrate student successes and promote joy
    • Engage with colleagues to develop and implement strategies that foster a sense of community and belonging
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree OR Associate degree and one year of relevant experience OR High school diploma and two years of relevant experience
    • Relevant experience defined as working with youth in a mental health or classroom-facing setting
    • Experience working in a classroom setting and/or with challenging behaviors
    • Valid California Driver's License
    • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
    Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $25.46-$27.96 per hour, commensurate with experience. The annual salary would be approximately $53,000-$58,000, based on a 40-hour workweek. Additional compensation may be provided upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam.
