Policy Advocacy Professional

We are seeking a seasoned Policy Advocacy Professional to join our team at the American Nurses Association. As a key member of our Policy and Government Affairs team, you will play a critical role in promoting ANA's policies through direct contact with the Administration and relevant federal agencies.
This is a hybrid position that requires working from home (at least 20% of the time) and commuting to our office in Washington, D.C. for meetings and collaboration with colleagues.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will have a strong background in healthcare policy, analysis, and advocacy. They will be responsible for analyzing proposed and final Federal agency rules and regulations, developing actionable comment letters, and providing consultative services to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities- Analyze proposed and final Federal agency rules and regulations to identify implications for healthcare and the nursing profession.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote ANA's policies through direct contact with the Administration and relevant federal agencies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policy and position statements, legislative and regulatory briefings on nursing practice, healthcare issues, and related topics.
- Provide consultative services to internal stakeholders on healthcare policy and nursing practice.
- Bachelor's degree required; preference for RN, APRN, or master's degree.
- Eight or more years of demonstrated, high-level analysis, research in healthcare coverage and reimbursement from private and public payers.
- Experience in evaluating healthcare regulations, legislation, and policy.
- Evidence of advanced professional development in healthcare policy and advocacy.
- Formal experience in healthcare policy, with preference for healthcare reimbursement and public and private payers.
- Track record of increasing responsibility in a work or volunteer capacity.
We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) retirement contributions, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and advancement.
