About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Professional to join our team. As a Virginia State Police Trooper, you will be responsible for promoting highway safety, serving and protecting your community, increasing community involvement and partnership, keeping Virginia safe by enforcing the laws of the Commonwealth, and attending one of the finest Law Enforcement Training Academies in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $58,232, with opportunities for advancement and career growth. Additionally, qualified applicants accepted into the Training Academy will be compensated at this rate, with the option to relocate anywhere in the state based on Department needs. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, Troopers will have their salary increased by 10%, and with tenure, will be added to the Career Progression Program.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age on date of graduation
  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED
  • Must be a United States citizen on day of testing
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver's license
  • Must successfully pass all Phase One pre-employment testing
