## Job Description

We are seeking a Family Engagement Specialist to join our Suffolk Family Treatment Court Supervised Visitation (SV) Program. As a Family Engagement Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing supervision of parent/child visits for families referred by Suffolk Family Treatment Drug Court. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure visits are productive and meaningful, helping families transition from supervised visitation to reunification and/or unsupervised visitation.

### Key Responsibilities:

* Provide in-home, community, and office-based supervision of visits to families referred by Suffolk Family Treatment Drug Court.
* Attend relevant periodic training to stay informed of current research and best practices in the field and implement strategies/techniques learned.
* Submit written progress reports as required by the Department of Social Services and/or Treatment Court.
* Conduct intakes with new families referred to the program.
* Transport families to and from visits using agency van or personal vehicle if needed, including the ability to lift, carry, and secure children into appropriate child restraint car seat.

## Required Skills and Qualifications

* High School diploma or educational equivalent required; a degree in a related field is preferred.
* Minimum of one year experience working with families required.
* Good communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work cooperatively with the department of social service professionals and other professionals interfacing with program clients.
* Proficiency in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, and email, and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments.
* Valid New York State Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

## Salary and Benefits

The Family Engagement Specialist position is a non-exempt position paying $20.00 per hour. The position is part-time, up to 18 hours/week, with evenings and Saturdays. The office is located in Central Islip, NY. The role reports to Program Supervisor.
