About the Job

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pool Safety and Service Specialist to join our team at the City of Conroe.

The estimated salary for this role is $35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience. This compensation range is based on industry standards for lifeguards with similar qualifications in the region.

Responsibilities

As a Pool Safety and Service Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons in our pool(s) and surrounding environments. This includes acting as a first responder in emergency situations and providing exceptional customer service to all members, participants, and guests.

You will also be required to follow and enforce all City and Center policies and procedures, participate in in-service training sessions, and conduct various pool maintenance duties such as testing water chemistry and checking mechanical system operation.

In addition, you will be responsible for completing all required records and reports, including those related to pool operations and maintenance.

Requirements
  • Must be at least 15 years old
  • Must be pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess current American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
  • Knowledge of certifications, good communication skills, ability to work long periods standing, walking, swimming, lifting up to 75 lbs, and demonstrating leadership
Working Conditions

The work requires medium physical effort, with the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

You will also need to be able to balance, climb, crouch, feel, grasp, handle, hear, kneel, lift, have mental acuity, pull, reach, repeat motions, speak, stand, talk, and walk for extended periods.

Please note that passing a background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening are conditions of employment. A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required.
