Job Overview

Zaheen Medical Center LLC is a fast-paced, growing family practice seeking a full-time medical assistant bilingual in English and Spanish.

About the Role

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled medical professional to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform procedures under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, record vital signs, take chief complaints, and document all in the patient's chart in the electronic medical records system
  • Collect and prepare various office procedures and tests, including strep, influenza, urinalysis, pregnancy test, and laboratory specimens for transfer to the hospital and lab
  • Ensure accuracy and completion of EMR prior to the physician encounter, including retrieval of labs, X-rays, and other test results
  • Patient notification of test results
  • Perform EKG and administer immunizations
  • Assist providers in the exam room as needed
  • Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize equipment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and instruments and keep all rooms clean
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (refrigerator temperatures, expired medications, vaccines, etc.)
  • Assist with phone requests for medication refills; e-prescribe, PT-1 transportation forms, paperwork, and medication prior authorizations
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Must have Medical Assistant Certification
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (eClinicalWorks is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
  • CPR/BLS, First AED Certified Preferred
  • OSHA/ HIPAA Certified (Training/Certificate will be provided)
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $19-$23 per hour, based on experience, which translates to approximately $40,000-$48,000 per year. The job type is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with possibly one Saturday a month in the future. Paid time off and other benefits are also available.
