Business Manager Job Description

The Business Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned suppliers in the market, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Master and drive the 5 Core Competencies of business planning, performance evaluation, product and inventory management, pricing and revenue management, and demand planning/forecasting/budgeting.
  • Work with suppliers to establish and manage local market financial budgets.
  • Negotiate and manage tactical budgets to ensure effective investment spending.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to identify over-inventory products and establish business rules for innovation, discontinued, and vintage rolls.
  • Ensure sales blocks and purchase blocks are properly managed and allocation business rules are consistently followed.
  • Develop and provide sales documents, including pricing, advertising, POS, and sell sheets, with supporting analytics.
  • Identify local market and investment opportunities by leveraging key sales drivers.
  • Develop and negotiate incentives and up to 20 rationalized goals per supplier/brand/product.
  • Responsible for goal model management for assigned suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
  • Advanced PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs, including presentation software.
  • Strong business planning and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of trade development fundamentals, including supplier, sales, customer, and brand.
  • Strong sales, finance, budget management, negotiation, and management skills.
  • Previous management experience and relevant cross-functional experience.
  • Proficient in analysis of syndicated consumer data (IRI, Nielsen).

Working Conditions:

This is a hybrid position based in the Commerce, CA office, requiring a minimum of 2 days in office per week.
