Job Description

Job Title: Quality and Food Safety Manager

Job Summary:

The Quality and Food Safety Manager is responsible for providing quality and food safety support and leadership within the ADM Milling Division. This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support various systems used throughout the facility, including ADM Weigh, APecS, Sphera, PolicyTech, and TLC.
  • Lead audits and perform annual tasks as needed for compliance.
  • Develop and implement Quality and Food Safety requirements for Human Food and Animal Food, when applicable.
  • Monitor the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and manufactured products.
  • Manage prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management System.
  • Actively participate in employee development and create, support, and facilitate quality and food safety training.
  • Assist with internal auditing and oversee non-conformity investigations.
  • Developing Processes:
    • Oversee and implement Cost of Poor Quality.
    • Assist with the IA (Intentional Adulteration) FSMA implementation- Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment.
  • Job Qualifications:
    • Preferred 4-year degree or equivalent 7 years Food Safety experience.
    • Preventative Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) trained.
    • Working knowledge of Document Management (PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases.
    • Knowledge of applicable food regulations and requirements.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
    • Must be organized, possess time management skills, and be able to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to make decisions based on information and data available.
    • Ability to work as a team member and provide training.
    • Demonstrate experience of effective leadership.

Working Conditions:

Employees in this position will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, dusty environments, and may be exposed to various potential chemical and food allergens due to the nature of our business and requirements of the job.
