Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a key management role responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of plant machinery and systems. The Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency and product quality while adhering to the company's standards and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and coordinate maintenance and repair activities in collaboration with the production management team.
  • Facilitate effective communication with maintenance staff to address and resolve maintenance-related concerns.
  • Develop and maintain a computerized system for tracking work orders, spare parts inventory, and maintenance records.
  • Implement and uphold cleanliness and organization standards within the maintenance department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for maintenance personnel to assess skills and competencies.
  • Ensure that all maintenance staff receive proper training and resources to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Lead and enforce safety protocols within the maintenance department, reviewing safety performance to maintain high safety standards.
  • Update and maintain operational and training manuals relevant to the maintenance team.
  • Monitor the performance of plant equipment and systems to reduce unexpected downtime.
  • Analyze and enhance key maintenance metrics, including asset utilization and maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations at the local, state, and federal levels regarding maintenance operations.
  • Manage inventory levels and initiate orders for maintenance supplies and parts as needed.
  • Assist in planning and executing plant upgrades and expansions.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure maintenance staff are aligned with quality policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all maintenance personnel are trained on the latest operational procedures.
  • Promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  • Report any deviations from established procedures to management.
  • Participate in the internal auditing process for the plant.
  • Understand and adhere to food safety standards and protocols.
  • Responsible for maintaining food safety and quality standards.
  • Perform internal audits as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • A degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with manufacturing equipment and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Prior supervisory experience is essential.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and holidays.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications related to maintenance management.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in managing maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
