Fibertek, Inc. is a leading developer of laser and electro-optic systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to lasers for atmospheric sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to contribute to the development of products on our Research and Development Team in Herndon, VA. As part of our R&D division, you will work on small teams to develop, verify, and upgrade the firmware in Fibertek's electro-optical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Develop firmware for electro-optical systems using VHDL and FPGA development tools
  • Collaborate with hardware designers to develop and test firmware
  • Develop test benches and run simulations to exercise the design and verify compliance with requirements
  • Interface with lab instruments (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Develop code for microcontrollers and FPGA embedded CPU cores
  • Develop GUI-based test software to exercise firmware
