Bakery Assistant

Job Summary

The Bakery Assistant - Customer Service Specialist will provide exceptional customer service, support sales efforts, and maintain a clean and organized bakery department.

About the Role

This role is responsible for assisting customers with purchases, answering questions, and providing product information. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods. Additionally, they will assist with preparing and wrapping bakery products, stocking shelves, and rotating inventory.

Essential Responsibilities

- Assist customers with purchases and answer questions about products
- Provide product information and make recommendations to customers
- Prepare and wrap bakery products according to company standards
- Stock shelves and rotate inventory to ensure freshness and availability
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery department, including sweeping and mopping floors and cleaning equipment

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

Working Conditions

- Work in a refrigerated environment, approximately 40°F-45°F (4°C-7°C)
- Stand for long periods, walk, and move around the store
- Lift up to 50 pounds, carry heavy loads, and push/pull carts and racks
- Frequent use of hands to handle products, cash register, and other equipment
