Job Overview

Pacific Neuropsychiatric Specialists Inc is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, routing calls, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule appointments with providers and time/location slots, utilizing scheduling protocol.
  • Route calls to the appropriate extension, take messages, and enter tasks.
  • Utilize electronic systems and internet access to obtain patient information.
  • Collect and compile accurate information for electronic records.
  • Maintain accurate, legally sound, and complete records.
  • Interface with medical staff to ensure a cohesive working relationship.
  • Enter notes and special instructions in the electronic medical record.
  • Confirm patient insurance providers and obtain prior authorization as needed.
  • Perform patient care in an environment that prioritizes safety and reduces errors.
  • Assist other department members as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; college or equivalent education preferred.
  • Previous experience in scheduling, phone operations, and medical facilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Telephone and computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
