We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Wooster Community Hospital. As an Advanced Level Respiratory Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing respiratory care to patients, directing the activities of paraprofessionals, and ensuring effective communication with patients, support persons, and healthcare teams.

Job Description

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in Respiratory Care, be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and meet the Ohio Medical Board requirements for licensure. A valid/current license from the Ohio Medical Board is also required. The ideal candidate will have two or more years of clinical respiratory care experience and possess ACLS certification.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care to patients, including patient assessment, evaluation, and education
  • Direct the activities of paraprofessionals and ensure effective communication with patients, support persons, and healthcare teams
  • Maintain awareness of verbal/non-verbal communication in interactions with staff, other departments, physicians, patients, and families
  • Communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team, reporting critical information to physicians and others as indicated
  • Facilitate communication between staff members, alerting nursing of changes in patient status
  • Demonstrate basic ability to initiate and manage crucial conversations, utilizing AIDET to foster positive communication
Requirements
  • Graduate degree in Respiratory Care
  • Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Valid/current license from the Ohio Medical Board
  • Two or more years of clinical respiratory care experience
  • ACLS certification
Salary

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
