Job Summary

As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Hendrick Health, you will play a vital role in optimizing patient medications therapy by providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to achieve goals and be proficient in all nine patient care skills: knowledge of disease, knowledge of drug therapy, knowledge of non-drug therapy, knowledge of laboratory and diagnostic testing, communication skills, patient monitoring skills, physical assessment skills, drug information skills, and therapeutic planning skills.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Education: B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm D. or Master of Pharmacy
  • Minimum Work Experience: Three years as a licensed pharmacist with enhanced clinical responsibilities
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: Active registration as a licensed pharmacist in the state of Texas, Sterile Compounding Certification, ACLS or PALS, Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) or specialty certification in area related to assigned duties, Registration as a preceptor with TSBP
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform medication consults, including total parenteral nutrition
  • Assist with pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents
  • Provide internal and external education
  • Perform medication/drug use evaluation
  • Present data/reports at various committees
  • Ability to effectively direct and/or supervise personnel as appropriate
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and decorum at all times
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
