As a medical psychologist and officer with the U.S. Army Reserve, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to our soldiers while serving when needed.

About Us

The U.S. Army 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion is committed to recruiting and retaining the best healthcare professionals to join our team.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary of $125,000 per year, including a Health Professional Special Pay of up to $75,000 for eligible specialties, paid in three yearly increments of $25,000. Additionally, we provide Health Professionals Loan Repayment of up to $250,000 (maximum of $40,000 per year) may be applied toward qualified school loans, as well as paid continuing education and training.

About the Role

You will become an important part of our collaborative health care team, practicing in your community and serving when needed. You can enhance your skills while helping our Soldiers when they need it most. To qualify, you must have a Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply if they have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates.

Requirements

Requirements include: current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, eligibility for board certification, completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship, and completion of a training program in psychiatry. You must also be between 21 and 42 years of age and have permanent U.S. residency.
