Job Overview: As a Certified Nursing Assistant in Medical Oncology at the University of Miami Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

About the Role:

  • You will assist patients with their personal hygiene needs, including giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, as well as helping with showers.
  • You will help with meals and feeding patients, ambulate, turn, and position patients, and provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • You will administer enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and apply restraints.
  • You will perform sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
  • You will answer patients' call lights and requests promptly.
  • You will maintain a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff, and transport patients and equipment.
  • You will report patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment.
  • You will measure and record food and liquid intake and output, and check and record vital signs.
  • You will provide patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certification in relevant specialty or field
  • Minimum 0 - 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary
  • Commitment to the University's core values
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment
